Transforming Young Women’s Lives Through Technology :Pwani Teknowgalz Impact

Since 2015, Pwani Teknowgalz has been on a mission to empower Kenyan young women with technology skills with the aim of providing them with a financially stable future and confidence to participate in the digital space. With over 20,000 passionate  young women applicants, the organization has significantly impacted the lives of 6,800 young girls through different programs such as CodeHack, Coders at American Space, STEM Cafe, Technovation, Community Workshop, Flutter Mobile development sessions, and Mombasa Girls in STEM among other projects. Pwani Teknowgalz launches first girls in technology Space in Mombasa.

Yesterday we officially opened our own office located opposite AAR health Center Mombasa along Moi Avenue.This is a great milestone for the organisation. We have had this vision for over five years since we started our impactful work of equipping girls and young women with technology skills in Mombasa. Prior to having the new space, Swahilipot Hub played a great role in supporting Pwani Teknowgalz’s activities and programs at the hub. She is a Techie Book

Pwani Teknowgalz Executive Director Ruth Kaveke has been able to successfully publish her first book titled  “She is a Techie” with Lambert Academic Journal, a Germany based publishing company. In her book, Ruth describes her journey in the Technology field. Being a computer enthusiast right from high school, Ruth grew with deep interest in computers. Her passion and love for technology led her to pursue Bachelor’s degree in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) at The Technical University of Mombasa specializing in the software field.
