It was a friend’s recommendation that led her to enroll in Codehack’s computer literacy program, where she embarked on a journey of self-discovery. Despite lacking prior tech knowledge, she quickly found her stride, immersing herself in computer packages and witnessing her skills flourish in just three short months.

Ilhaam’s journey began at Pwani Teknowgalz, where she enrolled in the Codehack computer literacy skills program. Through Codehack, Ilhaam acquired a solid foundation in basic computing and online collaboration tools. The program, designed specifically to uplift young girls by providing them with vital digital skills, opened new doors for Ilhaam and many others like her.

But her journey didn’t end there. Upon completing the initial phase of her training, Ilhaam’s passion for technology propelled her to delve deeper into advanced topics. She proceeded to learn website development, digital marketing, and the fundamentals of artificial intelligence. These skills, gained through her dedication and the comprehensive curriculum offered by Codehack, equipped Ilhaam with the expertise needed to excel in the tech industry. She discovered a newfound confidence as a woman in tech. PwaniTeknowgalz became more than just an educational platform; it became a beacon of empowerment.

                 

With her newfound skills, PwaniTeknowgalz enrolled her as an intern for the AjiraForShe internship program in partnership with eMobilis, enabling her to advance her skills and secure online jobs in graphic design and website development.

               

Today, Ilhaam is not only making strides in her career but also giving back to the community. As the Future Pillars ICT Officer, she is responsible for training graduates in computer skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for the digital age. Additionally, Ilhaam has been appointed to design the organization’s website, showcasing her prowess in website development.
