Why Us

We are a women-led non-profit organization that aims to bridge the gender gap of women in technology careers by providing a holistic environment for women and girls through Practical digital skills and technology training, mentorship, and workshops. We endeavor to empower them to use their creativity to develop innovative solutions to community problems in alignment with the 5th SDG to be the next generation of innovators in Kenya and Africa.

Pwani Teknowgalz aims at achieving the 5th SDG about Gender Equality specifically target 5.b that enhances the use of enabling technology, in particular information and communications technology to promote women empowerment.

We believe in equipping girls and women with employable digital skills in order to assist them leverage the increasing number of internet users and contribute to the digital economy

Theory of Change

If we equip girls and young women from marginalized communities in Kenya with employable skills in technology, they will be economically empowered and be able to support themselves and their families because our research shows that women are underrepresented in technology field globally. Employable skills in technology will bridge the gender digital divide and allow more women to confidently contribute to the digital economy
