We conducted Robotics and Engineering training sessions for our ToTs on the 12th and 13th of February 2016. The training was graciously led by Joash Amemba and Faith from Open Build Hacker Space. Open Build’s philosophy of HACK.TEST.SHARE guided the Robotics assembly.

ToTs were introduced to SparkFun Inventor’s Kit (SIK) and SparkFun RedBot basic kits which are a great way to get started with programming and hardware interaction with the Arduino programming language.

The purchased SparkFun Inventor’s Kit (SIK) and SparkFun RedBot basic kits were used to give a practical introduction to programming of hardware. Joash did a great job on the application of robotics and engineering to the the real world with the culmination of the training having ToTs race their robots on an improvised race track. Joash handed out a Raspberry PI to the winner and Open Build T-shirts to the winning team that got their RedBot to ‘drive’ and ‘arrive’ first in the challenge.
