Sharon Gakinya developed an app called Elevate that seeks to empower women with information regarding business and finance.
She said the main driver that led to the creation of the idea was the fact that women, especially those who are less fortunate, do not know how to access government funds allocated for women.
In addition to this, even if they do get access to these funds, in most cases they do not know how to manage them.
