
This is a free program funded by the US Embassy Kenya to equip youth aged 18-35 in all American Spaces Kenya. That is Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru and Lamu. It also aims to spark coding innovation and creativity among result oriented new and upcoming youth coders by having a competition among the individual youth in the cohort that addresses challenges around areas of health, economy, democracy and security to create a community of coders at American Spaces in Kenya.
This is geared to provide a tech enabled space where participants learn, share and actualize coding ideas for social change and benefit.
Program Goals and Objectives
To equip youth aged 18-35 in all American Spaces Kenya with coding skills . That is Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and Lamu and create a tech enabled space where participants learn, share and actualize coding ideas for social change and benefit.
To spark coding innovation and creativity among result oriented new and upcoming youth coders by having a competition among the individual youth in the cohort that addresses challenges around areas of health, economy, democracy and security to create a community of coders at American Spaces in Kenya.
Create a vibrant coding community across the network of American Spaces Kenya complete with programming and activities all year round by having quarterly virtual training with different experts in coding that we have worked with such as women in cybersecurity, TechWomen Kenya and 21cskills.
To award the best 5 innovative solutions from each five American Spaces in Kenya cohort that address challenges in health, economy, democracy and security playstore, Hosting and domain and cash prize.
