Covid-19 pandemic has had a severe global impact on various day-to-day operations. Numerous organizations are currently initiating ways of bracing up to face the challenges posed and embracing the new normal. Pwani Teknowgalz being a women-in-technology organization is no exception. Our CodeHack initiative that involved physical learning at Swahilipot Hub has been interrupted. This interference is a result of the new health guidelines on social distancing. We are honored to partner with 21C Skills Africa, a Liquid Telecom Initiative, in providing young women in CodeHack program access to virtual learning. These skills are Data Science, Artificial intelligence, and IoT.

21C Skills Africa is a learning platform specially designed to help Africa’s technology workers develop the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century. The platform provides expertise, training, and development programs on the latest technologies for African students, start-ups, and developers, who are ready to play a starring role in Africa’s Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Pwani Teknowgalz is prepared to support young women to acquire the skills virtually during this period of Covid-19. This plan is geared toward having young women continue to learn new technological skills. We are confident that the young women, upon acquiring these skills (Data Science, Artificial intelligence, and IoT) will multiply the impact by reinvesting back into their families besides mentoring fellow women in their communities.
